MANHART CR 700 LAST EDITION
In September the time had come: Mercedes-AMG presented the new C 63 S E PERFORMANCE. As had been known for a long time, this was accompanied by a veritable revolution: a hybrid drive consisting of an in-line four-cylinder and an electric motor on the rear axle replaces the previous, fabulous and universally popular 4.0 biturbo V8. With our latest creation, we at MANHART Performance want to give the M177 eight-cylinder a fitting send-off: the CR 700 Last Edition is a W205-AMG saloon that can boast the complete refinement programme from individual looks to a comprehensive power upgrade for the biturbo engine.
An impressive increase in power is, of course, always one of the absolute centrepieces of any MANHART vehicle. The C 63 S, for example, has been upgraded to 712 hp and 920 Nm maximum torque as the CR 700 Last Edition. This is a substantial increase of 202 hp and 220 Nm compared to the series data of 510 hp and 700 Nm. This was achieved primarily with the help of the MANHART Turbo Performance Kit, which includes upgrades for the turbochargers and the intercooler respectively. Added to this are a MANHART carbon intake and the tried and tested MANHART ECU remapping. After the optimisation, the CR 700 Last Edition needs just 5.5 seconds to accelerate from 100 to 200 km/h – an enormous improvement of several seconds compared to the standard condition!
To upgrade the exhaust system, there is a choice of MANHART “Race” downpipes without catalytic converters or MANHART “Sport” downpipes with 200-cell catalytic converters. However, both variants are only intended for export, as they do not have TÜV approval. Matching the performance upgrade, the transmission also received an upgrade. While we also optimised the chassis with height-adjustable coil springs by H&R, the brake system remained standard. However, it can also be individually configured on request. The same applies to the interior.
The resulting lowering of the saloon also ensures that the mounted MANHART Concave One rims are perfectly aligned under the wings. They measure 9×20 and 10.5×20 inches and are covered with 255/30 and 275/30 tyres. While the finish here can be customised as desired, the choice for the vehicle shown was the classic matte black with gold rim decoration on the rim edge. This makes the wheels a perfect match for the body design. Our characteristic MANHART decal set in gold is applied to a black paint finish. Another new detail is the radiator grille finished completely in gloss black.
