MANHART MH5 450 (G31)

We at MANHART can ‘only’ do M when it comes to BMW tuning? This impression may arise from time to time. After all, our creations are mostly based on the top models of the Munich sports label. However, this assumption is, of course, an absolute fallacy. Our MANHART team is now emphasising this once again with its latest project vehicle: the MANHART MH5 450. Although its designation MH5 might suggest that it is based on the M5, the additional numbering, which always refers to the performance, shows that this cannot be the case.

After all, the M5 has been rolling off the production line with more than 450 hp for almost 20 years and four model generations. Instead, the basis for the MH5 450 was a BMW 540i Touring from the recently replaced G31 model generation, whose standard 3.0-litre B58 inline six-cylinder turbo engine with 340 hp and 450 Nm is pushed to the eponymous 450 hp and a maximum torque of 551 Nm with the help of our in-house MHtronik powerbox. For customers for whom this output is not enough, further expansion stages of Stages 2 and 3 are available on request. A MANHART stainless steel exhaust system with valve control, which flows into REMUS rear silencers, ensures a more sonorous sound and, of course, an improved appearance.

Speaking of looks: MANHART lowering springs by H&R came on board as a second technical refinement that also fits in this category. The lowering thus achieved allows the matt black MANHART Concave One rims to stand out harmoniously under the wings. Their dimensions are 9.5x20 and 10.5x20 inches and the corresponding tyres measure 255/35ZR20 and 285/30ZR20. As an alternative to the finish selected here, the rim colour can be configured as desired. The brake system located behind the wheels has been retained as standard, but upgrades are of course possible on request.

Apart from the new rims, the MH5 450 has been given numerous other visual customisations. At the front, the Touring features a black double-bar kidney grille and a MANHART front spoiler lip. MANHART side skirts transport the sporty look to the rear. Last but not least, this is accentuated with a MANHART diffuser and a MANHART roof edge spoiler by Maxton. Furthermore, a MANHART trim set with black decorative stripes and lettering extends over the white bodywork. The roof box mounted on top of the estate is also customised to perfectly match this high-contrast two-tone styling. In the interior, the Alcantara steering wheel has been re-upholstered.
