MANHART MHXM 900 II (G09)

After the M1 launched in 1978, M GmbH, BMW’s motorsport and in-house tuning division, had not developed a completely independent model for decades. But then came the 50th anniversary of the sporty subsidiary in 2022. The XM made its debut to celebrate this anniversary. This stately SUV with powerful plug-in hybrid drive is the second model series created entirely by M GmbH. The top-of-the-range Label Red model has 748 hp and 1,000 Nm - and is the perfect basis for creating a brute tuning colossus. We at MANHART Performance also came to this conclusion. The result is the MHXM 900 II presented here.

As usual, the number stands for the performance of the vehicle. 900 hp and 1,200 Nm are generated by the 4.4-litre S68 biturbo V8 combined with an electric motor. Our BMW specialists in Wuppertal have achieved this with the help of the MANHART MHtronik powerbox. If this yield is not enough, even more powerful expansion stages are possible on request. There are several variants to choose from when it comes to upgrading the exhaust system. A MANHART stainless steel exhaust system with valve control or an Akrapovic slip-on system without wireless kit are available with approval for German roads. The latter is also available with a wireless kit as an alternative. However, TÜV approval is absent for this solution similarly as the MANHART race downpipes without catalytic converters and the MANHART OPF delete replacement pipes with 300-cell HJS catalytic converters, which are therefore all only intended for export.

The XM also received extensive visual refinement on its way to becoming the MHXM 900 II. The SUV is fitted with large-format in-house Forged Line Y-spoke rims in 10x24 and 12x24 inch with 295/30 and 355/25 tyres. A striking gold finish was chosen here, but other customised configurations are also possible. The perfect alignment of the wheels under the wings is thanks to our MANHART lowering springs by H&R. And the now gold-painted callipers of the OEM brake callipers shine through the double spokes. We can also realise individual upgrades on request.

The MHXM also features an armada of MANHART forged carbon fibre elements. The front has been given a spoiler lip, air ducts, apron add-ons, radiator grille frame and a bonnet. At the rear, a roof spoiler, a diffuser, a boot spoiler below the rear window, bumper side slats and an add-on on the tailgate continue the styling. Side skirts round off the package. MANHART decal set is also added.

Last but not least, we at MANHART have also installed a carbon kit in the interior. It includes panelling for the doors, the dashboard and the centre console as well as steering wheel spokes.
