MCLAREN 720S
By their efficiency and innovation, the first “Super Series” including the 650S and the 675LT was a success and real game changer in the sports car industry. To refresh the range and show the other brands what they are capable of, McLaren released the 720S during the Geneva Motor Show on March 2017.
It’s the successor of the 650S and is fitted with McLaren’s new M840T 4.0 V8 BiTurbo producing 720 HP and 770 Nm. Its design may have splitted the opinions of car fans around the world, but there is no question about this car’s performance. Despite that, it still remains a great cruiser although having the heart of a supercar.
MANHART Performance added a new twist that suits the 720S perfectly and underlines its character. This may even change the doubter’s minds to a positive opinion.
First, let’s talk about the exhaust. The 720S which lacks a bit of natural character and drama was given a newly developed MANHART exhaust system. It is now the only 720S on the market that spits flames in the Hot Start Mode.
Moreover, MANHART created two designs for the car, which greatly represents both our qualities of doing outstanding and flashy cars and discretion or understatement cars.
The first design is focused on discretion and classy appeal. To get that, MANHART put a classic livery with gold accents to match perfectly with the black body color. From the front, the main stripe which crosses the car is gold. A gold line has been added on the edge of the front diffuser as well. To underline the shape of the side wings, the MANHART stripe is following it’s curve. The back is adorned by gold lines on the diffuser’s edge and bumper’s edge, which create a stunning visual detail. These few gold touches make the 720S a bit different without being too shiny.
The second design is more outstanding and flashy. Actually, the colour accent which has been chosen to match the little monograms on the car is Volcano red. At the front, the bottom trim of the lights get a red touch. The edges of the front bumper are underlined with red as well. Two red stripes accentuate the hood close to the intakes given by it’s shape. The wheel’s trims are in red featured with some touches on the spokes. The carbon mirror caps get a little stripe to divide them in two parts.
The carbon side winglets are surrounded in red similar to the carbon intakes on the hollows of the engine hood. The door arches are also contrasted in red to add more presence and be in the continuity of the front stripes, which goes on till the engine compartment. The deep parts of the doors display a gradation of the Volcano Red which looks exceptional and fits the slender design shape of the side. To complete this design, a circle line is going from the mirror caps through the back of car. Three red lines are added on the engine’s hood to underline its edges. The back diffuser and the spoiler edge received a flashy touch. This design is inspired from a McLaren P1 by MSO.
The McLaren 720S is now a proper supercar through all the upgrades which were installed by the MANHART tuning.
