MH2 500 II (G42)
There is no doubt that the current BMW M2 (G87) is currently the king of the compact high-performance sports cars. However, its little brother, the M240i from the G42 series, also has it all! Like the M2, the M240i also comes with a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder turbo engine - and therefore has the best prerequisites for significant power upgrades. Our team at MANHART Performance has now explored this in the MH2 500 II project vehicle shown here.
As is usual at MANHART, this model designation already gives a clear indication of the power lurking under the bonnet: 503 hp and a maximum torque of 633 Nm are just waiting to be unleashed thanks to the installation of our in-house MHtronik power box. Our MANHART engine technicians equipped the B58 engine with a new intake manifold including an integrated intercooler and a MANHART downpipe with 300 cell HJS catalytic converter, which is connected to a stainless steel GRAIL rear silencer with valve control and four matt black MANHART tailpipes. The in-house MHtronik power box was tuned for high-quality 102-octane petrol. Equipped in this way, the MH2 500 II easily outperforms an M2, which has to make do with 460 hp / 550 Nm as standard or 480 hp / 600 Nm in the LCI version. Thanks to the xDrive all-wheel drive, even this much power can be transferred to the tarmac safely and with minimal losses - for optimum performance and suitability for everyday use! And this is by no means the end of the story: the Stage 2 and Stage 3 performance upgrades which are available on request, promise even more power.
In order to provide the increased longitudinal dynamics with adequate lateral dynamics, MANHART equipped the MH2 500 II with a MANHART Variant 3 coil-over suspension by KW Suspensions with adjustable rebound and compression damping. Alternatively, MANHART lowering springs by H&R are available, customised for use with the OEM shock absorbers. The sports brake system (left as standard on the project vehicle shown here) can also be individually upgraded at the customer's request.
Real eye-catchers are our MANHART Concave One double-spoke alloy wheels finished in glossy white in sizes 9.0x20 inches with 245/30R20 tyres on the steering axle and 10.5x20 inches with 285/25R20 tyres on the drive axle.
The in-house MANHART carbon aerodynamic parts contrast much more strongly than the alloy wheels with the bodywork wrapped in pastel light blue: starting with the front spoiler and the side skirt elements through to the rear spoiler and diffuser. The typical MANHART trim set is kept in black here.
Last but not least, we gave the sports steering wheel of the MH2 500 II an upgrade: the BMW M steering wheel was wrapped in a leather/Alcantara combination and given black-painted spokes. It was also equipped with MANHART carbon fibre shift paddles.
