635 hp and 750 Nm. What sounds like the performance figures of a thoroughbred sports car are actually those of the M5 CS. Well, a true sports car it is, of course, without a doubt, but a rather unusual one. After all, the highly exclusive special model also has the practical bodywork of an upper mid-range saloon and is thus in principle also a suitable companion for everyday life or even a holiday trip. Despite the very lush output of the 4.4-litre biturbo V8, the S63 power unit offers enormous potential for optimisation in terms of performance. We impressively demonstrate this: in the form of the MH5 GTR based on the CS.
We increase the power by means of an in-house carbon air intake and the proven MHtronik auxiliary control unit even more impressively: 788 hp and 935 Nm maximum torque are listed in the data sheet of the MH5 GTR. In addition, it has a MANHART stainless steel exhaust system with valve control, which flows into four 100 mm tailpipes. The latter are sheathed in carbon on this MH5 GTR, but are alternatively available with a ceramic coating. In addition, MANHART downpipes Race without catalytic converters, MANHART OPF Delete replacement pipes with 200-cell HJS catalytic converters and a MANHART OPF/GPF Deleter are available on request. However, these three options each lack TÜV approval and are therefore for export only.
The eight-speed automatic transmission and the braking system remain unchanged in this case, but the latter can be individually optimised on request. On the chassis side, meanwhile, a MANHART Variant 4 coilover suspension by KW Suspensions ensures optimised handling and at the same time a significant lowering.
As a result, the MANHART Ten-Spoke alloy wheels mounted on the axles in silver-grey matt are perfectly positioned under the mudguards. The dimensions are 9×21 and 10.5×21 inches, the corresponding Michelin tyres measure 265/30 ZR21 and 305/25 ZR21. As an alternative to the silver-grey, the rims are also available in the colour of your choice on request. To round off the visual individualisation, the powerful saloon features the typical MANHART decal set with decorative stripes and lettering. In this case, it extends over the dark green body in grey to match the rims. The interior is discreetly refined with new floor mats including MANHART lettering.
