A few weeks ago, we unveiled our first tuning interpretation of the BMW M2 second-generation model (G87). Already at that time, we made it clear that this was just the beginning and that further, sharper tuning stages were to follow. Now, we impressively prove that these were anything but empty promises. Like the first iteration of the M2 with the GTR suffix, which was based on the M2 CS of the F87 series, the GTR II is also a limited-edition, unique piece in this configuration.
While the MH2 560 presented itself visually rather subtly, our GTR model exhibits a significantly more extroverted styling with equally extravagant performance. 715 HP and 850 Nm are available on demand! This enables us to achieve the sprint from 100 to 200 km/h in just 5.76 seconds. The increase of 255 HP and 300 Nm was achieved through MANHART ECU remapping and a MANHART carbon intake for the 3.0-liter S58 twin-turbo inline-six engine.
On the exhaust side, our customers have several options to choose from. As a registration-compliant combination, MANHART Sport-Downpipes with HJS catalysts and a MANHART stainless steel valve exhaust system with four matte black 100-millimeter tailpipes are available. For export markets where TÜV approval is not required, we offer our customers alternatively or additionally MANHART race-downpipes without catalysts, MANHART OPF delete replacement pipes with HJS catalysts, and the MANHART OPF/GPF deleter.
Mainly responsible for the eye-catching appearance of the MH2 GTR II is the bodywork held in vibrant magenta with with champagne-colored MANHART decal set. An impressive array of carbon attachments rounds off the bodywork: The front end appears much more muscular thanks to a MANHART hood attachment, MANHART kidney grille, MANHART front bumper inserts, and a front spoiler. The latter component, like the diffuser, is also made by Alpha-N. Further accents at the rear include a MANHART spoiler lip and – an addition compared to the MH2 560 – a large, fixed rear wing. We chose this as well as the mirror caps from the M Performance parts program. Last but not least, there are MANHART side skirts.
The champagne-colored Raffa Wheels RFS-02 Forged Series wheels fit perfectly into this scheme. They measure 10.5×20 and 11.5×21 inches and are fitted with 285/30 and 305/25 tires. The appropriate lowering is thanks to our suspension optimization including the MANHART Variant 4 coilover suspension by KW Suspensions.
Not only with its spectacular exterior do we want to emphasize the focus on maximum dynamics and sportiness with the MH2 GTR II. The same purpose is served in the interior by the champagne painted MANHART roll bar including rear seat delete and the MANHART Schroth harnesses with belt tensioners. MANHART floor mats complete the interior.
Despite the significantly increased power, the already factory-sturdy brake systems could generally remain in their standard condition – except for the repaint of their callipers, which we also painted in magenta to match the car’s color.
